As I sit at my desk for the fourth consecutive rainy day, I can't help but ask; will it ever stop?
According to weather reports, October 9th experienced the heaviest rainfall since the turn of the century, making 2024 one of the wettest years in Paris since 1886.
This isn't just a fleeting impression; the city is undeniably enduring one of its most challenging years in decades.
Beyond the gloomy weather, I've noticed a peculiar shift in the Parisian atmosphere. Some might think that it is the post-Olympic games period. Loud music and cheering enthusiasts have disappeared, and instead, we see the reality of the gloomy autumn. There was a brief moment of celebration of fashion during PFW, but I have the impression that its energy didn’t last long. Could it be because of the constant presence of rain?
What Fashion Week showed us is that despite the bad weather, if one is motivated enough, the weather cannot stop them from being dressed to impress. Yes, effort is needed, and an umbrella too. But still, nothing can beat the day when we feel our best thanks to a powerful outfit.
The sad thing, more than the rain itself, is that the city’s renowned style and flair seem to have dimmed, replaced by a more subdued and somber demeanor. Parisians, typically known for their impeccable fashion sense, appear less concerned with their outfits during these dreary days.
However, as the sun begins to show, a different energy emerges. The city seems to come alive, and Parisians' attitudes toward fashion take a dramatic turn. Their overall demeanor becomes more vibrant and confident.
I am asking... why do we let the weather dictate us when it is time to shine?
Why not use fashion as a tool to make our lives better every day? Instead of letting the weather dictate your mood, choose outfits that make you feel confident and empowered. It is well known that the sun gives us energy, and so does leather!
A well-chosen ensemble can brighten your day, boost your spirits, and even help you achieve your goals.
Remember, we have to seize the day not matter of weather.
It serves as a reminder that life is abundant in obstacles and challenges. If I can't find a way to dress as I wish during rainy days, how will I handle more serious adversities that may arise?
What matters most is motivation. Why should I bother when no one around me does?
Well, simply because you don't want to be like anyone else!
Don't blame the rain for not putting effort into your outfit. Use it as an opportunity to stand out when most people just don't!
It might be this rainy, gloomy period, the best time to shine and embrace our individuality and express ourselves through our fashion choices.
Take out your leather outfit, put a raincoat over it, or take an umbrella and make each day a vibrant and unforgettable experience!
You never know who you might encounter just around the corner.
Autumn is the leather season, rain of shine. I was at an event recently and I was amazed (and delighted) to see quite a few of the women there were wearing leather attire. Multiple women wearing leather pants, one lady in full leather outfit(pants+jacket) and another with a leather coat.
I wouldn't say I live a fashionable city like Paris, so its rare to see people walking the streets wearing those outfits. Perhaps they see special occasions like the one attended as the most suitable time for leather attire. Regardless, its reminder why I love this season.
Also, I love that picture of you Deni_C. Those leather pants look great and you look amazing in them :)
