A Timeless Accessory

Sunglasses, more than just a fashion statement, have been protecting our eyes and elevating our style for centuries. From their humble beginnings to their modern-day status as a must-have accessory, sunglasses have evolved alongside human history.

A Brief History

The earliest forms of eye protection can be traced back to ancient civilizations like the Chinese and Egyptians. They used smoked quartz and glass to shield their eyes from the sun's harsh rays.

The 19th century saw a surge in industrialization, leading to increased exposure to harmful UV rays. Glass lenses tinted with chemicals were introduced to protect workers' eyes.

The golden age of Hollywood popularized sunglasses as a symbol of glamour and mystery. Icons like Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe made sunglasses an indispensable part of their iconic looks.

Today, sunglasses are not only functional but also a versatile fashion accessory.

My story `

As a child, I distinctly remember my aversion to sunglasses; they seemed like an annoying and unnecessary accessory that cluttered my carefree existence. During my teenage years, I observed some of my friends donning various styles of sunglasses, hoping to exude a sense of glamour or importance. Yet, for some inexplicable reason, they failed to achieve that sophisticated look.

Due to the absence of a role model example and the lack of understanding of its significance, this accessory seemed unnecessary, almost as if one needs to mature and develop their own style to appreciate certain things in life. So it wasn’t until I reached the age of 25 that I discovered the true delight of wearing sunglasses. At that pivotal moment, I got myself to my first elegant pair, realizing that these accessories deserve special care. I learned to store them in their sleek case as if they were delicate treasures—because, in reality, they truly are valuable and fragile.

I've also discovered a delightful ritual in the simple act of putting my glasses on and taking them off. There's a certain joy in the process, especially when I gently clean the lenses with the soft tissue that accompanies them. For those of you who have worn glasses throughout your life, this might bring a smile to your face. Yet, I assure you, engaging in this practice not merely as a chore, but as an enjoyable experience, brings a unique satisfaction.

I find the moment when I put my glasses on to be not only elegant but also empowering. As I place them on my face, there’s an unmistakable sense of intention and energy that surrounds the act, akin to wrapping myself in a cloak of self-confidence. It transforms a mundane task into a meaningful ritual that enhances my sense of self.

That's why I love sunglasses. When I put them on, I transform into a version of myself that feels both empowered and enigmatic.

The sleek black frames enhance my style, effortlessly complementing my leather outfits, which exude a bold, edgy vibe.

At times, these shades grant me a treasured sense of intimacy, much like my protective leather armor. They possess an alluring quality that sparks curiosity, while simultaneously holding an intimidating aura, especially when I wear them with a dose of confident attitude.

I can see the curious glances from people around me, their eyes eagerly scanning, yet they remain oblivious to where I am gazing. I truly enjoy the alluring mystery that shrouds me behind my shades.

Like leather, sunglasses possess a captivating allure. They capture interest, evoke curiosity, and command respect when paired with the right attitude.

Another thing I value about glasses is their worth and fragility. They act as a strong accessory, meeting all your requirements to stand out if kept in good condition. Sunglasses that are damaged and scratched do not improve your look and instead show a lack of care.

Look after your sunglasses well, and they will reward you in turn.

So yes, collecting sunglasses is my passion.

What is yours?

I like your post very much and enjoyed it to read. You always try to give things a particular meaning in addition to its only practical utilization value. This is what underlines its alluring mystery.

I myself, who has to wear glasses almost everywhere, had a lot of bad luck by loosing my very expensive, tailor-made sunglasses twice during the last years.

So my passion is perhaps less luxury, less alluring: books, reading, writing.

And of course leather: this is the passion, we come together
